Why should I do Qigong?

To answer simply, qigong will help make you feel better! It is a unique form of movement that balances the energetic pathways in the body, relieving pain, improving mood, reducing stress, strengthening the immune system, improving sleep quality, and so many other benefits.

If you have chronic health issues or feel run down, and you’re out of answers, don’t give up! There is a reason you found this website. Many of us walk around depleted which can wreak havoc on our minds and bodies causing hormone issues, sleep disturbances, chronic pain, weak immune systems, and many other problems. When there isn’t enough energy in the body, there is decreased circulation of energy and blood, causing stagnation (or blockages), leading to pain and illness. Qigong movement rebuilds and circulates that energy, freeing us from the obstructions causing those health issues.

As a result of qigong practice, even for just 5-10 minutes a day, you will have more energy, a stronger immune system, better digestion, and many other health benefits.

What is Chinese Medicine and Medical Qigong?

Chinese Medicine is a broad system of healing practices originating in China thousands of years ago. The system is based on the free flow of Qi, or vital energy, within the body’s energetic pathways, circulating to a network of organs. There are five therapies utilized in Chinese Medicine: 

1) Acupuncture
2) Herbal Therapy
3) Bodywork
4) Dietary Therapy
5) Qigong

Austin Energy Spa specializes in the use of Medical Qigong movement and bodywork. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, only movement sessions are being offered online. Medical Qigong movement is a form of gentle meditative exercises, combining posture, breath, and intention, to rebalance the energetic pathways of the body. By moving and supporting the energy or Qi in the body, pain is reduced, the immune system is strengthened, along with many other health benefits.


How are classes offered?

At the current time, I am offering 30 minute customized pre-recorded qigong classes tailored to your specific needs.


How should I prepare for a Qigong class?

Wear whatever clothing that you find comfortable. Avoid eating a large or heavy meal prior to performing qigong if possible. Drink plenty of water. Be prepared to energize and replenish!
